Criw Celf

Spring 2013 - present

I wanted to attend Criw Celf to learn new things. Each artist has been generous with their time and passing on their specialist knowledge - it’s been a privilege to work with them. All of the artists we worked with seemed to bring not only their skills, but their values, too.

Criw Celf is a creative programme for young people aged 11-18 who are passionate about the visual arts. The project boosts young people’s artistic skills, knowledge and confidence as well as encouraging creative careers. We introduce the group to artists, makers, designers and creative industry professionals through inspirational workshops, studio, gallery visits, talks etc. Artists and young people work collaboratively, alongside each other. The programme has a focus on developing critical thinking skills and creative problem solving.

Peak delivers Criw Celf for young people who live and/or are educated in South Powys. It is therefore a great opportunity to meet other like-minded creative people in the area. It is normally delivered across two programmes (11-14 yrs) and (15-18yrs) which are both an intensive week of workshops delivered in half-term breaks/Summer holidays. There are a limited number of places available on each programme.

Criw Celf helped me feel more confident about my artwork, but also as a person. It’s not always easy to meet other creative peers in this area so it has meant I’ve benefited socially, too. I’ve made some good friends on Criw Celf.
